Lost Ark is a complex MMO with many subsystems; one of these is the Rapport System, where you build a relationship between you and certain NPCs in the game. Rapport can be gained through various means, and as your relationship with an NPC grows, you will unlock more quests and get more rewards, like Lost Ark Gold, Silver, Cards, and Rare items. It's quite important for making the most out of your play. In this guide, we will tell you everything you need to know about how to increase your relationship with NPC in Lost Ark.

To unlock Rapport in Lost Ark, you will first need to complete that NPCs quests. For example, you must complete the Neria's Story quest before you can build rapport with her. Once you do, you can now interact with Neria and increase your rapport. Rapport in Lost Ark can be increased in different ways:

Giving gifts
Showing particular emotes
Playing songs

Each NPC has some gifts, instruments, and emotes that they like and respond to them well. If you give them what they want the rapport level will go up. However, there are limitations to it as well. You can only give them 99 gifts, 5 emotes, and 5 instruments in a day. For more gifts, you have to wait for a day.

There are a total of four rapport levels in the game:

Neutral
Friendly
Trusted
Affection

As you progress through the game and reach higher rapport levels, you will be receiving new rewards and quests. Some NPCs have additional requirements other than Rapport points to increase their tier, such as the Virtue Stat requirement. You have to reach a certain amount of Wisdom, Courage, Charisma, and Kindness before moving on to your next stage of the relationship.

If you don't have the required virtue, you won't be able to increase your rapport with other characters; since this is a very complicated system, players will need a lot of time to grind and reach higher levels. Once you have maxed out a relationship, you have no further opportunities to interact with the given NPC, and it is the end of their storyline.

This Rapport Level might not look beneficial at the start of the game, but once you progress further, you will get to know its importance. Benefits of increasing Rapport Rank:

You will get different quests to learn about different stories and personalities.
Each rapport NPC will give you rewards after getting to a higher Rapport rank with them.
The NPCs with the Heart in the Rapport menu can reward you with useful items like Silver, Cards, Gold, and Rare.
