In New World, Town Projects are large-scale activities people can work on together to upgrade their Settlements. Town Projects require a significant amount of effort and investment from the controlling company and the players that call that Settlement home.

The Town Projects are divided into three categories: Upgrade Settlement, Upgrade Fort, and Improve Lifestyle. Settlement upgrades enhance crafting stations in the Settlement, granting access to crafting higher-tier items. Fort upgrades enhance the area’s fortifications, strengthening the Territories defenses during Wars or Invasions. Improve Lifestyle Town Projects benefit those who own a house in that Settlement. Below we’ve given detailed information about each major New World Town Project which you can take part in.

Improve Lifestyle

The Improve Lifestyle category activates multiple Lifestyle buffs that grant you bonuses to Gathering, Crafting and Combat buffs within the territory. These bonuses are not permanent, but they do last for three days once they’re activated.

Lumberjack’s Spirit: Provides with an additional 20% increase in Logging Quantity for the next three days.
Farmer’s Harvest: Provides an additional 20% increase in Harvest Quantity for the next three days.
Miner’s Resolve: Provides an additional 20% increase in Mining Quantity for the next three days.
Hunter’s Bounty: Provides an additional 20% increase in Skinning Quantity for the next three days.
Weaponsmith’s Temperament: Upon crafting, provides with an increase in base Weaponsmithing Gear Score for the next three days
Engineer’s Patience: Upon crafting, provides with an increase in base Engineering Gear Score for the next three day
Armorer’s Inspiration: Upon crafting, provides with an increase in base Armoring Gear Score for the next three day
Chef’s Passion: Provides with an increased chance of receiving bonus meals while cooking for the next three days.
Arcanist’s Wisdom: Upon crafting, provides with an increase in base Arcana Gear Score for the next three days.
Arcane Blessing: Provides an additional 20% increase in Corrupted damage absorption for the next three days.
Hale and Hearty: Provides a 10% increase in base HP for the next three days.
Stalwart: Provides a 20% increase in Defense Recovery for the next three days.

Another thing you should keep in mind is that these buffs only apply to the players who bought a property and are residents of the Settlement. In addition, each Lifestyle Project costs 2,500 New World Coin.

New World Settlement

The Upgrade Settlement is a category that deals with Crafting and Refining Trade Skills in New World. Upgrading these stations allows you to experience a more refined quality of crafted items. Each facility has its own tier level starting from 1 to 5. The efficiency and quality of the items produced are connected with the tier level. The higher the tier level of the station, the better-quality items your Settlement will produce. Upgrading these stations will also affect the overall “tier” of the Settlement, which will change the name of this project category and be visible on the map and other places.

Tier 3 - Town
Tier 4 - City
Tier 5 - Capitol

Also, keep in mind that these upgrades will become downgraded over time if not properly maintained. Additionally, wars and corrupted invasions greatly impact a settlement’s upgrades, causing the specific Settlement to be downgraded.

New World Fort

Territory forts are the main source of defense for territory in New World. The Upgrade Fort category deals with the Territory Forts. Upgrading the fort will also change its name based on tier.

Tier 1 - Fort
Tier 2 - Bastion
Tier 3 - Keep
Tier 4 - Castle
Tier 5 - Citadel

Upgrading certain elements of the fort allows you to plant Siege Weapon emplacements around your fort. As Emplacement Points provide additional placement for Siege Weapons around your fort while upgrading Gates protects your fort from taking more damage giving it an extended lifetime. Note that the higher your fort’s tier, the harder it is for your opponents to break through the company’s influence. After a successful War declaration, higher-level settlements will have easier access to advanced defensive weaponry.

Every Settlement has a town project board with a range of quests you can grab, each contributing progress towards an active Town Project. These quests are straightforward, requiring you to craft certain items to explore a particular part of the map. Each quest you complete will further a Town Project’s progress while granting your character a small chunk of XP and NW Coins. Town Board quests refresh every 30 minutes, so be sure to check back frequently for easy quests to complete.

If you want to level quickly, get into crafting, or are invested in PvP, you’ll want to complete as many Town Projects as possible.
